I thought it maybe an idea to put a little bit more meat on the bone to Tip 5 where I mentioned that you must do research.
On many occasions, you’ll be faced with introducing many speakers at an event. It simply isn’t good enough to gen up on the profile of a speaker by going to their website or profile at a speaker bureau site. You must make the effort to call speakers and introduce yourself well before the actual day. They will appreciate the call and you’ll feel more confident and relaxed when meeting them on the actual day. In my experience you ought to know these:
A. How your speaker would like to be introduced.
B. The length, in minutes, of their speech and how this will impact on the overall timings of the event.
C. Whether they intend to accept questions at the end of their speech.
