Many of you will have had the opportunity to speak at a networking group. London is full of them!
I gave a short talk awhile ago about one of the most important things any presenter, speaker or business-person must do before a meeting, speech or sales pitch. Get this wrong and you could be in hot water!
As part of my preparation as a conference and event presenter, I ensure that I’m fully au fait with the pronunciation of the names of the speakers and other individuals I have to either introduce or make reference to during an event.
I handed out sheets of paper with surnames and asked those gathered to guess how they are correctly pronounced. It was amazing to hear so many different interpretations!
Here are those names:
DEATH
SMYTH
FARQUHARSON
