This tip applies equally to all public speakers as well as event hosts and presenters. I see a lot of people speak at events and many of them, for a variety of reasons, don’t quite cut it. One of the areas they go wrong surrounds their posture…I don’t mean how one gestures or whether their eye contact is correct, I do mean how they come across to their audience by the way they stand on stage. In short, you mustn’t:
1. Slouch – because if you do you will come across as a speaker who isn’t confident.
2. Put your hands in your pockets.
3. Be too upright or stiff!
