The last three months have been dominated by my preparation for the Maasai Mara Trek and details of this African adventure can be viewed here.

Unfortunately, I’ve had two nasty bouts of the dreaded lurgi since the beginning of the year, coupled with a few days of recovery following 6 nasty injections on January 4th. For the more hardy of you, full reports can be seen here Although the preparation has been dealt a blow I’m still pretty fit and raring to go.
January 10th, 2007 - As part of my involvement with Breast Cancer Campaign, I am frequently asked to speak about the charity and it’s aims.

Yesterday morning, I spent some time at The Convent of Jesus and Mary Language College. This school, whose role is around 1000 (predominantly) female students is located in Harlesden, had raised £1000.00 (see photo) for Breast Cancer Campaign and I was asked to speak to 70 sixth-formers.My keynote speech lasts for about 15 minutes and on this occasion I was able to have a Q&A session. I was very impressed by the keeness of the students to understand more about breast cancer and what preventative measures can be taken. Two or three asked me direct questions about my sister and what effect her passing in 1988 had on my family. With Jackie’s birthday anniversary just the other day, this was a question easily answered.
I’m very grateful for Clare Jeffries and her team at the College for allowing me the opportunity to speak and I look forward to giving them an update about my forthcoming Trek.
