Did you find this evening’s episode of BBC TV’s The Apprentice embarrassing? I certainly did.
Like Sir Alan, I was flabbergasted at the lack of intelligence displayed by some of the contestants. I mean, how can you not understand the difference between Halal and Kosher chickens? See for yourself here
My guests on JCom Radio this Sunday evening will be the wonderful Indy Jane and the brilliant Alan Caruba. Both are great entertainers in their own right. No doubt we’ll be chatting about the Bush visit to Israel, Hilary Clinton and of course, Barack Obama.
About a half-an-hour ago, I switched on my car radio to listen to the Wigan v Arsenal clash on BBC Radio 5 Live. A full four-and-a-half minutes passed before there was an indication of the score (Arsenal were drawing away at Wigan) not the actual score mind, you but just an indication. On BBC local radio, sports presenters are instructed to give the score as frequently as possible on commentary and always, when giving updates, at the beginning and end of you piece. Final score Wigan 0 Arsenal 0
These BBC awards seem a wonderful opportunity for someone to learn and compete in the public speaking arena. Aimed at 16 - 20 year olds in certain parts of Belgium, I wonder if they hold competitions in the UK and elsewhere.
