Cold Calling Tip No. 8 – The Follow Up (2)

London, UK

Cold Calling Tip No. 19 outlined how you should approach someone by phone after a meeting or when you’re calling after a mailer has been sent out. Once you’ve successfully made the appointment make sure you confirm the arrangements in writing. Nowadays of course this is best done by e-mail, so please ask your contact for the correct spelling of his or her e-mail address.

A day before or in the morning of your planned meeting, make a call to confirm once again. Turning up to a sales call only to find your prospect has been taken ill, or had to go into an emergency meeting can be a real pain! But the biggest tip I can give you about sales appointments is this – NEVER BE LATE. More about this later this week.
