The Analysis Of Handwriting

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

London, UK

Guest blogger, Erik Rees, a leading graphologist outlines the basics of the fascinating subject:

THE ANALYSIS OF HANDWRITING

Otherwise known as GRAPHOLOGY, this discipline is the most accurate form of personality and character assessment available to us, when competently practiced.

It works because “handwriting” is a misnomer. It should be called “brainwriting”, because the same brain that gives a person his or her behaviour or body language, also controls the writing movements. A motor-impulse, usually on the left side of the Cortex, produces the action of writing.

You can try a simple experiment. Pretend that you cannot use your hands and imagine that you have a pencil in your mouth or foot and try to sign your name in this way. You will find that you are trying to do exactly the same movements with your mouth or foot, which you have mastered so well with the fingers of your hand.

This demonstrates that the fingers of your hand are only an instrument controlled by your brain and every one of the highly delicate movements thus produced is a reflection of the body language. Any behavioural psychologist will confirm that a person’s body language is utterly revealing! In the case of handwriting, this is even more so, due to the delicacy of the movements produced.

It is not what you write but how you do so, that matters.

There are approximately 300 movements on the average A4 page and every one of them counts. We allow for accidental movements and we can sort out the superficial mood changes from the character traits.

In Europe, most graphologists are psychologists also, using this discipline to improve their work and make the most of available time. The subject is taught as a branch of psychology in Universities.

Unfortunately, in this country, our Establishment is frequently too frightened of the discipline to use it, fearing political as well as social consequences out of their control. This is the result of an ignorance of the subject but the British Institute of Graphologists (BIG), is now beginning to see some progress in this area.

Training for Success

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

London, UK

In recent days, a couple of people have asked me what my motivation was to start Communicate With Clarity. I replied that there were several reasons including my enjoyment to speak about communication in general to needing another revenue stream! What stands out though is my dislike of poor communication, whether it’s by telephone, at a networking event or plain and simple boring conversation.I mean who actually enjoys the experience of hearing “My name is xxxxxxxx, can I interest you in”?
I’m sure that people in all walks of life could and should dramatically alter the way others see them. Their reluctance to do so could emanate from a lack of social interaction or education or poor training but I believe anyone can improve their confidence and performance by solid experiential training.

Presenting Twitter

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

London, UK

On Thursday evening I gave a talk at my Toastmasters Club, entitled “The Power Of Social Media“. I focused the talk about Twitter and how it can help individuals and businesses engage better with their clients and customers. A Q&A followed where a number of issues were raised including defamation and cyberstalking.

Next Wednesday I’ll be addressing members of my Key Connectors club in North London on the same subject. On this occasion, I shall explain how I use social media tools like Linked-In, Twitter to obtain presenting work.

Goodbye Darling

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

London, UK

Well our Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling, probably delivering penultimate budget, could have done something about the housing market. He could have rid us of the dreaded HIPS and raised Stamp Duty to £1Million. Instead, the threshold for Stamp Duty will remain for the time being at £175,000 and there’s still no HIP replacement. Not exactly helpful for those seeking to move, especially first-time buyers, in many parts of the country.

The term, “they missed a trick” is a bit of an understatement.

How will the budget affect you?
