Mark Pickles – You will never have to join a queue to make cold calls!

Mark is a B2B sales expert and I’m in accord with his views on telephone cold-calling which he makes reference to on his profile. In short Mark believes, as do I, that many firms and salespeople alike don’t work hard enough at getting new business. He cites these reasons:

•Sales people rarely receive professional training, so invariably lack the skills and awareness to consistently get results.

•A deep reluctance to actually pick up the telephone, and the fear of constant rejection

•Many business owners are experts in their field, but not in selling

•Finally, the few with the expertise often lack the time to do it themselves.

How To Amplify Your Voice

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

London, UK

I’m really looking forward to working with Susan Heaton-Wright at Speak Connect Engage on July 7th. Yesterday, Susan posted some advice for users of microphones in the wake of the Great Gordo Gaffe in Rochdale. She really does know her stuff.
If you’ve never used a microphone before, learn when to turn it off and on and never, never leave it on whilst going to the lavatory. I’ve made that mistake once and got away with it.
