More Top Tips for Sports Broadcasting on Radio

Posted in Radio Reporting, TV Presenting at 9:20 am by Jeremy Jacobs

At football yesterday, I was in discussion with amongst others, the local sports reporter for the Isle of Thanet Gazette, Craig Tucker. We chatted about sports journalism, broadcasting and players who’ve moved on to pastures new. One such player is Terry McFlynn (see photo), now plying his trade 12000 miles away for Sydney FC. Terry left Margate for Morecambe, before moving to the Antipodes.

If you’re asked to cover a sporting event for the radio, ensure you do your research properly, and as you’ll be likely to work for long stretches at a time make sure that:

1. You’ve had a good night’s sleep beforehand, and

2. Eat properly.

Remember, you are a performer. Think and act like such.
